Referring to the formation of the largest mining consortium in the country with the focus on “mines”, the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries described the financial and technical capacity of this consortium as a unique capacity and said: “In addition to transforming the domestic mining sector, having the large domestic companies synergized and brought together in large projects such as Janja copper mine will also provide the opportunities for competition with large international companies.
According to the public relations of the Mines and Metals Development Investment Company, Engineer Amin Safari announced the serious determination of the largest mining consortium for the development of mines in the east of the country and said: a lot of efforts have been made to establish this consortium in a way that large companies such as Chadormalou, Golgohar, Goharzamin, Ghadir Investment Company, and Tajalli with the leadership and centrality of the Mines and Metals Development Company, are seriously planning to develop the Janja copper mine in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries “MMDIC” stated that the purpose of forming this consortium is synergism and participatory use of it for the development of large mines and added: by forming this consortium, the wish for having an international mining super company in Iran is becoming realer operation of Janja project is a great start for developing other mines in the east of the country.
Engineer Safari also expressed hope for positive developments in the country’s mining sector in the coming years and said: The capacity of this consortium, which is composed of listed large companies and owned by the people, can act as the private arm of the government in the large mines sector, especially in the east, in order to make a big change in the country’s mining sector in a few years.
Recalling the financial capacity and technical capacity of the consortium, he said: “The financing power of six large companies together, as well as the technical capacity and experience of operating the largest mines in the country, has created a unique potential that synergistically promises the formation of a mining company for the mining sector in the East of Iran.
In the end, the Deputy Minister of MMDIC considered the creation of mining super companies as a way to enter the field of international competition and specified: in the coming years, due to the reduction of domestic minerals, entering other countries’ mines will become a necessity and to solve this challenge, only the creation of mining super companies can pave the way for competition with large international companies, and this can be done by bringing large domestic companies together in large projects, including the Janja copper mine; This synergy and unity, in addition to transforming the domestic mining sector, is an exercise for entering the mines of other countries.
