Sarmad Abarkooh Iron and Steel Complex started the operation of its rolling unit with a nominal annual production capacity of 450 thousand tons of 8 to 32 mm ribbed rebars in Azar 1395 and also in line with its goals, it plans to build a coil unit and a steel plant with an annual production capacity of 600 thousand tons of steel ingots. Steelmaking units are in the direct charge form and this technology results in saving up to 30% in energy consumption.
Considering the existing infrastructure and in order to complete the production portfolio of the rolling unit and regarding the small number of wiring units in the country, the quick efficiency of the wiring project, market demand for this product, and the significant added value of this product compared to longitudinal products, the company started to build a wiring unit with a nominal annual production capacity of 400,000 tons with the aim of producing wire and wire feed from size 5.5 to 16 mm of ribbed and simple type in cooperation with Primetals Company from Italy in 1396 through the CPG company from Germany.
Establishing a capacity of 3 million tons of sheets in one stage is one of the unique features of this factory. Hot sponge iron charging in EAF furnaces and also due to the use of Endless technology of Primetals Company, energy and material consumption is significantly reduced which is unique in Iran.
The purpose of this project is to build a steel billet production unit with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year in Andimeshk, Khuzestan.
